From the Denver Post:

We will be continuing with last year’s format and will conduct the written portion of the State Bee with the online platform provided by Scripps. We will compile the results and from there, invite the top 25-30 spellers to advance to the in-person oral rounds of The Colorado State Spelling Bee.
